I was commissioned by David Buehrer of Greenway Coffee Co. to create a micro mural on the roll of craft paper behind the espresso bar at Blacksmith Coffee Shop in Houston, TX. I was the first artist asked to create a piece for the coffee shop. The intention of the project that it be semi-permanent, in that it would be on display for about 3 months, then taken down and framed and moved to another location such as an office or roasting space.
David goes on coffee bean buying trips all over the world. I wanted create one of my signature Kawaii Katsola® illustrations from one of the countries they purchase coffee from, I chose Costa Rico.
